2-1. Driving procedures
Engine (ignition) switch (vehicles without smart entry & start system)
 Starting the engine
Gasoline engine
Check that the parking brake is set.
STEP 1
Check that the shift lever is set in "N".
STEP 2
Sit in the driver's seat and firmly depress the clutch pedal.
STEP 3
Turn the engine switch to the "START" position and start
STEP 4
the engine.
The engine will crank until it start or for up to 30 seconds, which-
ever is less.
Continue depressing the clutch pedal until the engine is com-
pletely started.
Diesel engine
Check that the parking brake is set.
STEP 1
Check that the shift lever is set in "N".
STEP 2
Sit in the driver's seat and firmly depress the clutch pedal.
STEP 3
Turn the engine switch to the "ON" position.
STEP 4
turns on.
After
STEP 5
"START" position and start the engine.
