Hardware Commissioning Guide
Issue 01 (2018-12-12)
An HFC network device, such as a fiber node or amplifier, adjusts output ports and
the level difference between the ports using JUMPER/SPL/TAP-8/TAP-12.
The procedure is as follows:
i.
Obtain the output module (JUMPER/SPL/TAP-8/TAP-12) configuration of a
fiber node or amplifier in advance.
ii.
Configure J1 on the MA5833 to the same as that of fiber nodes or amplifiers
on the live network.
iii. On the MA5833, configure J2/J3 as 2 SPLs to obtain 4 RF output ports, or
configure J2/J3 as 2 JUMPERs to obtain 2 high-level RF output ports.
iv.
Remotely adjust the values of EQ2 and ATT3, and set the levels of RF output
ports to the planned target value.
