ATTACHMENT OF ABRASIVE DISC
1. Ensure that the operating switch is "OFF" and the plug is disconnected from
mains supply.
2. Turn the machine over so that it is standing on its head (fig. i) to give access
to the underside.
3. Remove the disc attachment bolt (anti-clockwise) with the key provided, and
remove used disc. (Fig. 1).
4. Centre replacement disc on backing pad, replace bolt and tighten firmly. (Do
not have more than one disc on machine at any time.)
5. Spin disc by hand and check that it is correctly centred.
OPERATION
1. Tilt the machine back on its castors and switch "ON" (Fig. 2).
2. Lower the machine so that the disc is in contact with the floor and keep
moving the machine back and forth with a SLOW SWEEPING movement.
The disc guard (Fig. 2) may be "ROLLED" along the skirting board to enable
the sanding action to be taken to the edge of the floor area.
Keep the machine in motion at all times when the disc is in contact with the
3.
work surface. DO NOT press down; the weight of the machine is sufficient to
give a score-free finish.
OPERATING HINTS
1. Use the machine slowly and steadily; follow along the wood grain wherever
possible.
2. During sanding operations it is advisable to close the doors and cover any
gaps around the door. Open the windows. Wear a dust mask.
3. Never leave the machine stationary with the disc revolving on the work
surface. This will cause gouging of the surface and so spoil the finish.
Best results are obtained when using the machine by kneeling down on one
4.
knee, which will give positive control and avoid backache.
