Brushes
• Over time the carbon brushes inside the motor may become worn
• Excessively worn brushes may cause loss of power, intermittent failure, or visible sparking
• To replace the brushes;
1. Face the router down horizontally with the flat edge of the Base Plate (14) at the bottom
2. Remove the Brush Access Screws (21) from the motor cover
3. Gently slide the motor cover off horizontally so the Speed Adjustment Buttons (3) remain in place and do
not fall out
4. Lift the edge of the Carbon Brush Holders up and carefully pull out (Image N) so the notch at the bottom is
clear
5. Disconnect the spade terminal and replace the carbon brushes on both sides
6. Refit into brush housing on both sides, refit motor cover and Brush Access Screws ensuring the Speed
Adjustment Buttons stay in place
• Alternatively, have the machine serviced at an authorised service centre
Note: Always replace carbon brushes in pairs and once fitted the brushes may take a short time to bed in.
