Torque
Check (See Fig. 6-2-2.)
1)
Set the unit
to operating
condition
without
a
cassette
inserted
as instructed
in 6-1.
2)
Measure the SUPPLY REEL TABLE
torque
in
the
REW mode, and confirm
that
it is 750gcm
or
more. Perform
this
measurement
keeping
the
torque gauge in a fixed position
with your hand
(locked
torque).
3)
Measure
the TAKE-UP
REEL TABLE torque
in
the F.FWD mode, and confirm
that it is 600gcm
or more (locked
torque).
4)
Measure
the TAKE-UP
REEL TABLE torque
in
the playback mode (SP tape speed), and confirm
that
it is within
100 through
160gcm (locked

After
confirming
that
torque
readings
are within
the
specifications
for
each
mode,
check
the
following
:
@
Dirt on the capstan
motor
and the REEL
PULLEY groove.
@
Deterioration
of the REEL DRIVE BELT.
@
Deterioration
of the FRICTION GEAR ASS'Y
felt
(torque
during
playback).
@ Wear and damage
of the COMPL CLUTCH
MECHANISM and the reel drive system gears.
