FF ~ F-SEARCH

REW + R-SEARCH can
be
made direct
by reducing
the

Tape Protection
Mechanism
(a)
FF/REW + STOP
Tape
tension
applied
to
the
head
drum
when stopping
is lowered by optimizing
the
balance
between
the
left
and
right,
and
brake forces
acting
on the left and right
reel table. Thereby
it prevents from causing
a scratch
on the tape due to V-head when
stopping.
(b)
STOP + FF/REW
The starting-up
speed of the capstan
motor
is ingeniously
designed
to
preclude
the
possibility
of unusual
tape tension
at the
time
of REW/FVJD
start-up.
(c)
Tape
end
brake
damping
The design
of the mechanism
is so made
that the time from issuance of an electrical
STOP command
till actual brake application
is reduced
to a minimum.
This enable the
braking
to be completed
before the reader
tape
end.
(d)
FF/REW
running
To ensure highly stable tape running in any
condition
and
any
environment,
design
consideration
is given
to the foundation
brake torque
(soft
brake) to the reel table
and the
tape winding
angle with
respect
to each tape
guide. Particularly
in regard
to the
supply
side
fixing
guide
and
F.T.E
(Full Track
Erase) head, the design
is so
made that
they do not come into contact
with
the
tape
at
the
time
of
FF/REW
operation
to alleviate
load application.

Loading
Protection
Mechanism
Tape pull-out (loading)
from within
the cassette
is done
to ensure
proper take-up
of the tape
onto
the head drum. At that
time, the tape is
extended
from
the supply
reel side.
So, if the tape is wound
to the final
end, no
loading
can be made. For this
reason, a mode
is designed
to allow
the tape to be rewound
a little
at the
final
end of
the tape without
any loading
done.
