OF MECHANISM
The P-90 mechanism
has its original
modes such
as given
in Table
2-1, in addition
to the VTR is
operation
modes
(STOP,
FF, REW, PLAY, REC, R-
SEARCH, F-SEARCH, STILL, SLOW, and ETS). These
modes
specific
to the
mechanism
play
important
roles in tape
protection
operation
at the time of
a shift
to various
modes of the VTR above. A shift

to the mode specific
to the mechanism
is carried
out by controlling
the rotation
of the loading motor
with the control
signal of the system control circuit.
The detection
of
important
mechanism
operation
mode
positions
is done
by using
the FL START
SWITCH
for
detecting
the
cassette
ejection /
insertion,
and the MECHANISM
MODE SWITCH for
detecting
each mode of the mechanism (3 bit MODE
DATA
is output
by operating
the rotary
switch).
