When I turn on my UH35 I just get static, how can I fix this?

To reduce static on your Uniden UH35, use the Automatic Squelch feature, which mutes weak transmissions and unwanted noise. If static persists, try using the Monitor function to check for weak signals:

1. Press and hold the Volume button for 2 seconds to enable Monitor mode.
2. If there is no signal, you will hear noise.
3. To return to normal mode, press and hold the Volume button again for 2 seconds or press the key once.

Additionally, using a repeater in Duplex mode (CH01-CH08 and CH41-CH48) may help improve signal clarity by overcoming obstructions.
