Locate the water‑separating fuel filter on the starboard front side of the engine.

Remove the red service cap.
5.
Place a rag or towel around the fuel filter housing to prevent the fuel from leaking or spraying.

Use the fuel filter removal/installation tool or the shaft of a screwdriver between the lugs on the filter cover and turn the fuel
filter cover counterclockwise to loosen it. Do not remove the cover.

Slide the filter housing up to release it from the bracket. The fuel hoses have enough slack to remove the filter housing
from the bracket.
Draining the Filter Housing
Fuel is flammable and explosive. Ensure that the key switch is off and the lanyard is positioned so that the engine cannot
start. Do not smoke or allow sources of spark or open flame in the area while servicing. Keep the work area well ventilated
and avoid prolonged exposure to vapors. Always check for leaks before attempting to start the engine, and wipe up any
spilled fuel immediately.
