window to the respective object. For this, observe the following points.
Internally the VARIOSCAN employs 16-bit digitalisation. This ensures
that the selected temperature measuring range determined by the
currently set aperture (see below) is always fully available. As on the
display only 256 colours or grey tones can be presented, you can
optimise the presentation of the thermogram on the display by using the
brightness and contrast controls.
By a single click the brightness is increased/reduced in steps.
Double clicking the upper key allows numeric entry of the level.
A double click on the lower key initiates the Autolevel function once, if it
has been activated on the Autofunctions menu (see Freeze menu).
Otherwise, the level is to be entered numerically.
Any operation of a Level key deavtivates the permanent Autolevel
function possibly selected on the Autofunctions menu.
The Autolevel function controls the brightness of image presentation as
a function of image content without affecting the contrast (Range). If the
Autolevel function is run for a single time, it is indicated by a message
box.
If the Spot function is active (see Spot temperature measurement), the
control is based on the image content under Spot 1, otherwise the
system analyses the entire image content.
If the Calibration range autofunction has been activated on the
Autofunctions menu, the calibration range may be changed
automatically during Autolevel operation, if necessary.
Type 3022 only:
If the „Fi" calibration range is active, the calibration range will not be
changed.
