Symptom
(D) No Ping response on one or some but
not all IP addresses of one server.
No response to ping on one or two of the
IP addresses of a single server from
another server inside the system, while
some IP addresses do respond to a ping.
(E) No response to ping on multiple
servers on some but not all IP addresses.
No response to ping on one or more IP
addresses of multiple servers from
another server inside the system.
(F) Servers can be pinged from other
servers in the system but not from
customer connections.
Multiple servers cannot be reached or
pinged from a customer-connected client.
The servers can be pinged from other
servers within the system.

Recommended Actions
1. Swap the cables at the server and
switch. If the failure swaps ports,
replace the cable.
2. If possible, swap switch ports for the
server at the switch. If the network
responds to ping, replace the switch.
3. If it does not ping, replace the server.
Note: It is important that multiple servers
are exhibiting issues with networking. If
only one server is having issues, see
symptoms C and D.
1. Ensure all switches have AC
power—the POWER LED is green. If
not, ensure AC is applied by swapping
cords and AC outlets.
2. If the FAULT LED is illuminated on a
switch, reset the switch by removing
and reinstalling the AC cord.
3. If these steps do not resolve the
problem, replace the switch.
Note: It is important that multiple servers
are exhibiting issues with networking. If
only one server is having issues, see
symptoms C and D.
