Server Troubleshooting
Probable Cause
Bad or no AC power to the
server.
Server failed in BIOS or
operating system not present.
Server, network cables, or
switch.
Recommended Actions
1. If System Status LED is on, proceed
to symptom B.
2. If all server LEDS are off, check AC
cord. Verify it is plugged in to the
power supply on the back of the
server and the PDU.
3. Push the Server Power button on the
front panel. If no LEDS turn on,
replace the server.
4. If the System Status LED turns on
but is blinking or Amber, proceed to
symptom B.
5. If the System Status LED turns on
blue (takes ~10 seconds to stop
blinking after AC power is restored)
and the server is still unavailable,
proceed to symptom B.
1. If the System Status LED is amber
and is scrolling an error code, follow
the directions under symptom C.
2. If System Status LED is blue,
continue with network problems,
proceed to symptom C.
1. Verify the instructions from symptom
A were completed.
2. This is an HA path. If none of the
networks assigned to a server
responds to a Ping, replace the
server.
