The HÄFELE single door cam lock with random keyed (Cat No.233.47.000)
and keyed alike (Cat No.233.47.001) are suitable to be UV bonded to float/
toughened glass doors of up to 12 mm thickness without mechanical fixings
for both inlay and overlay doors.
OVERLAY DOOR
Note: All bonding is to be carried out in strict accordance with the Häfele
instruction manual on UV bonding. The lock can be used in either left or
right hand side applications and can be bonded following these instructions.

1. Decide where the lock must be fitted to the cabinet door (note: take
care not to mount the lock in the way of any shelves).
Glass Door
2. A 25 mm Ø hole must be drilled through the glass, the center of which
must be 42 mm from the inside edge of the carcass for an overlay
door and 40 mm from the edge of the door for an inlay door (see Fig.1).
3. Remove the cam and cylinder from the cylinder housing (note the position
of the nylon washers for re-assembly).

the glass with the lug on the rim of the cylinder housing in the 9 o'clock
position (see Fig.2). Apply UV-Glue (Cat No.003.04.110) or (Cat No.
003.04.111) (see Fig.4 & 5).

4b. Right hand operation: same procedure as 4a, but bond the housing to
the glass with the lug on the rim of the cylinder housing in the 3 o'clock
position (see Fig.3). Apply UV-Glue (Cat No.003.04.110) or (Cat No.
3
003.04.111) (see Fig.3).
5. When the bond is complete assemble the cylinder and cam into the
housing with the keyhole in the traditional vertical position and test the

lock's operation. The cam should rotate 180º to the left and right.
3 o'clock
6. For an overlay door take care not to allow the door to make
direct contact with the glass carcass when closed. For an inlay door the
glass should not come into contact with the receiver. We suggest the
use of Door Buffer (Cat No.356.21.420), (see Fig.5). The position of
the cam receiver on the sidewall of the glass cabinet is dictated by the
cam in its closed or locked position. Use a small amount of the putty
provided to temporary press stick the receiver to the side of the glass
carcass and manipulate accordingly until the cam accurately engages
the slot provided, ensure that side of the receiver is parallel to the edge
of the carcass (see Fig.6).
7. Open the door and with masking tape mark exactly the vertical and
horizontal position of the receiver (see Fig.7).
8. Remove the receiver and putty, clean and bond the receiver with UV-
Glue (Cat No.003.04.110) or (Cat No.003.04.111) using the masking
tape as a position locator. Remove tape, clean and complete the bond.
Glass Door
9. Your lock is now fully operational
10. Please safeguard the spare key and quote the code no. on the key when
reordering.
Consult the Häfele website or catalogue for a range of UV compatible
products that may prove useful for glass furniture.
