Troubleshooting

If the VDR malfunctions, troubleshoot it according to the following list. Read the cause and take
the actions recommended on the list.
If the malfunction persists or there is a problem not listed below, contact the Sales Department,
the nearest branch company, branch office, sales office, or any agent of Japan Radio Co., Ltd.
Trouble symptom
The MCB's LED (SYS. or
REC.) does not turn on.
The OPU's screen is not
displayed.
The OPU can't operate.
Cause
The RCU's POWER switch
does not turning on.
The AC-line fuse is blowing
out.
The power supply is not
supplied from the switchboard.
The PSU is breaking down.
The OPU's screen brightness
is becoming low.
The life of OPU's LCD is
approaching.
The power supply is not
supplied to the OPU.
The function of rotary knob is
becoming the operation mode.
The rotary knob is breaking
out.
Chapter 6 Maintenance and Inspection
Actions to take
Turn on the RCU's POWER
switch.
After stopping the power
supply to the RCU, check the
PSU's AC-line fuse. If the
AC-line fuse is blowing out,
replace with the spare fuse.
Check the switchboard.
Contact your sales
representative, our sales
department, nearest branch
office or sales office.
Adjust the screen brightness
by the rotary knob.
Check the OPU's operating
time. See "4.6.4 Checking the
replacement parts".
If the OPU's operating time is
over 50,000 hours, it is
necessary to replace the OPU.
Contact your sales
representative, our sales
department, nearest branch
office or sales office.
1) Check the LAN cable
2) Reboot the RCU.
Push the HOME button in the
OPU.
It is necessary to replace the
OPU. Contact your sales
representative, our sales
department, nearest branch
office or sales office.
