all blade appliance firmware is loaded from the new USB key the first time the
blade appliance is started. (This process can take up to 30 minutes and the
blade appliance must not be turned off until the login prompt displays,
indicating that the process is complete.) After the blade appliance firmware is
loaded, you must perform an initial configuration (see Chapter 4, "Setting up
the initial firmware configuration," on page 21), make sure that the latest
DataPower software is installed on the blade appliance (see "Downloading the
firmware image" on page 25), and restore the customer configuration and data
from a saved backup. Configuring the blade appliance past the initial
configuration is beyond the scope of this document. Refer to the following
documents for additional information needed to complete the configuration of
replacement blade appliance components, including contact information for
IBM WebSphere DataPower software support:
