DESCRIPTION
In addition to the normal switch-off the pump in hazardous
facilities must have a second switch-off. This dry running pro-
tection system ensures that the pumps are switched off safely
in accordance with ATEX requirements and thus prevents the
pumps from operating in "snore" mode (i.e. from taking in air).
The dry running protection system consists of a special float
switch (KT-T) and a safety barrier.
The float switch must be fixed to the discharge connection
piece using a bracket.
The safety barrier must be connected between the pump con-
trols and the KT-T and places the float switch in an intrinsically
safe circuit. The barrier must be installed and wired in the hous-
ing of the pump controls.
Can be used with the following pump control units:
AD 23-610 X
AD 25-610 XM,
BD 23-610 X
BD 25-610 XM,

INSTALLATION

WARNING!
All works involving the pump and the controls must always be
carried out with the system at zero voltage!
Notice! The installation and electrical connection of the safety
barrier may be carried out only by an qualified electrician with
a precise understanding of the explosion protection standards
(EN 60079, Part 14) and in complete compliance with these
standards.
Fix the M16 screwed cable gland in the bracket using the M16
locknut. Select the correct mounting hole for the cable gland in
accordance with the table.
Adjust the free length of the switch cable between the cable
gland and the float switch to 6 cm.
Notice! At the same time, twist the cable such that one of the
larger surfaces of the float switch lies in contact with the water.
If the switch lies on its edge, no defined switching operation is
possible.
Now tighten the cable gland and fix the cable to the bracket us-
ing cable ties. Finally, fix the bracket to one of the flange screws
on the discharge connection piece of the pump.
