Engine Oils

Engine o ils are s p e c ific a lly tested
fo r th e ir s u ita b ility in o u r engines.
T herefore, use only e ngine o ils
recom m ended by us. In fo rm a tio n
on recom m ended b ran ds is a va il­
able at any MERCEDES-BENZ
service station.
A new o r re c o n d itio n e d e n g ine is
fille d w ith an in itia l o p e ra tio n oil
in the fa c to ry or in a MERCEDES-
BENZ service s tation. T h is oil is
spe cia lly developed fo r the s p e cific
o p eratin g c o n d itio n s du rin g the
firs t 3 0 0 -6 0 0 m iles (500 -1 ,0 0 0 km).
A re co m m e n d e d en g in e oil may be
used fo r to p p in g up if the oil level
dro p s to the d ip s tic k m inim um
m ark p rio r to the firs t service
3 0 0 -6 0 0 m iles (5 0 0 -1,0 00 km).

bra ke flu id s having a co m p a ra b le
b o ilin g p o in t. T he c o lo r o f these
flu id s is c le a r to ye llo w . Do not

base b ra k e flu id s w ith th o se having
a s ilic o n e o r m ineral o il base.
In the c o u rse o f se rvice life, the
b o ilin g p o in t o f th e b ra ke flu id is
lo w e re d by the c o n tin u o u s a b s o rp ­
tio n o f m o istu re fro m th e atm o s­
phere. U n d e r severe b ra kin g c o n ­
d itio n s, th e re fo re , th e b ra ke flu id
c o u ld boil, ca using b u b b le s to form
in the b ra ke system . F or this
reason, th e b ra ke flu id m ust be
changed o n ce a ye a r - p re fe ra b ly
in the sp rin g .
