V. OPERATOR MAINTENANCE
BATTERY CHARGING

DANGER
Charge batteries only in approved, well ventilated areas.
Explosive gas comes out of the battery when charging. The charging
should be done in a well ventilated place away from open flames.
Follow the instructions of the charger manufacturer and your employer.
1. Remove battery top and side covers.
2. Disconnect the battery plug. Connect the charging plug to the battery plug.
BATTERY CARE
The life of the battery and performance
depend on the kind of handling and
inspection given to it daily.
Be sure that the battery is properly
checked and serviced so that it will
always be maintained in top cond~tion.

DANGER
Batteries are filled with acid. They
produce explosive gas.
Protect yourself. Use face and eye
protection. Use gloves and clothes.
Keep all flames away from batteries
and never smoke.
Checking fluid level
Keep a constant check on the electrolyte
level. If it is low, add distilled water up to
the specified level
Caution
The battery will be damaged if any
fluid other than pure water is used.
When adding water, use only distilled
water.
