LIFT TRUCK DESCRIPTION
Trucks are built in many shapes and sizes. The Toyota 7FBCU15-55 are classified
by ANSl and OSHA as cushion tire equipped, electrically powered, high lift, sit-
down rider industrial trucks. Expected safe operation of these machines would be
indoor environments with smooth, dry floors such as warehousing and trucking
terminals.
Cushion tires are usable for operation only over improved surfaces. Care must still
be taken to provide a workplace free of obstacles. Outside use must be restricted to
the best improved roadways; no dirt, gravel, pot holes, bumps, or water allowed.
The designation of these models for purposes of environmental usage are: Type
"E" unless optional construction is ordered. They must not be used in locations
presentmg fire hazards as defined in OSHA 1910.178.
Toyota des~gned these trucks to be operated by personnel trained as required by
ANSl and OSHA. Section I of this manual will help you set up programs that will
result in years of safe, efficient use.
The unique design of Toyota lift trucks requires special training for mechanics.
Toyota dealers have the tools and knowledge necessary to keep your truck running
for many years without breakdowns, and we recommend you contact your local
dealer about a Service Contract.
If you want to perform your own maintenance and repairs, do not attempt it without
asking your dealer for the proper instructions and manuals. OSHA requires it.
Decals and plates that give you information about safe operation are on your truck.
Study them and if you have any questions, ask your supervisor.
Make sure they stay on your truck in clean, readable condition.

The chart on your truck tells you how much load it can safely pick up. We will
explain the one shown here but follow the specific one your truck.
"The capacity chart shown above is for Toyota standard lift truck whose rated
capacity is 3,000 pounds at 24 inch load center. This chart specifies that this lift
truck can lift 3,000 pounds at 24 inches load center, or 2,590 pounds at 30 inch load
center. Before attempting to pick up or lift a load, make sure that its weight is within
the rated capacity of the truck at the load center involved.
Note
If the load is not uniform, the heaviest portion should be placed closer to the load
back rest and center on the forks."
