Setting Up Your Camera

Pre-Installation Checklist & Initial Camera Settings
1. Fully charge camera battery.
2. Insert and format an SD card.
3. Set shooting mode to "P" Program and ISO to "200."
4. Set White Balance to "AWB." When not using an external strobe,
AWB can still be used, however, for the most consistent colors in
different lighting, use "custom white balance"
5. Set Light Metering to "Center Weighted Avg."
6. RAISE camera flash to trigger a Fiber Optic Strobe. CAUTION:
Camera flash CANNOT be raised after camera is closed inside
housing.
7. Set Flash Mode to "
strobe.
8. Set AF Area to the "Center" and AF Frame Size to "Normal."
9. Set Continuous AF to "ON" and AF-assist Beam to "OFF."
10. In Flash Settings, set Red-Eye Lamp to "Off."
11. Set Review Image after shooting to "4 sec".
12. In Power Saving, set Auto Power Down to "On" and Display Off to
"3 min)."
Recommended initial settings are not ideal for every shooting
situation and should be adjusted as necessary.
Settings not mentioned should be set to the user's preference.
