Setting Up Your Camera

Pre-Installation Checklist & Initial Camera Settings
1. Insert a fully charged camera battery.
2. Insert a properly formatted memory card.
3. Set Red Eye Reduction and AF Illuminator to "Off."
4. Set Focus Mode to "AF-S Single Shot and Focus Area to "Center."
5. Set ISO to ISO AUTO or a specific ISO setting. Do not use ISO
AUTO Multi Frame NR setting if using a flash. This setting will
prevent the flash from firing.
6. Set Metering Mode to "Center."
7. Set Smile/Face Det. to "OFF."
8. Set Eye-Start AF to "OFF" if illuminated in Menu screen.
9. Set FINDER/MONITOR to "Monitor."
10. Set Power Save Start Time to "5 Min."
