4.15 Liquid Crystal Display (LCD) Module
Removing the Color LCD Module
To remove the LCD module, follow the steps below and refer to figure 4-30.
1. Turn the computer off. Disconnect the AC power cord and all external cables
connected to the computer.
2. Remove the battery pack, optional memory module, optional PC card, display
mask and FL inverter board as described in sections 4.2, 4.3, 4.4, 4.13, and 4.14.
Remove four M2.5x6 screws securing the LCD module to the LCD cover. The

screw at the lower left also secures the ground cable.
Carefully rotate the LCD module from right to left out of the display cover and

disconnect the display cable from CN1N on the LCD module and from the VGA
cable in the computer.
NOTE: Metal edges on the LCD module are sharp, so be careful not to cut
yourself.
Installing the Color LCD Module
To install the LCD module, follow the steps below and refer to figure 4-28.
Connect the display cable to CN1N on the LCD module and to the VGA cable ,

then carefully rotate the LCD module into the LCD cover.
Secure four M2.5x6 screws and the ground cable on the LCD module .

3. Install the FL inverter board, display mask, optional memory module, optional PC
card, and battery pack as described in sections 4.14, 4.13, 4.4, 4.3, and 4.2.
