Settings in the protection device
In the SIPROTEC 4 protection devices 7SD52, 7SD610, 7SA6 or 7SA52, the protection
interface that controls the communication with the opposite protection device must be
configured as "existing". The fibre-optic direct connection must be set in both devices. The
transmission time difference in transmit and receive direction can be set to 0, as no
significant runtime delay occurs due to the repeater.
Display and Operation
The FO-Repeater has four display elements and one operating element. Being more
specific, there are one red, one green and two yellow LEDs and one push-button, all of them
located on the top side of the housing.
LED Error or Link Down/Echo Mode
The red LED indicates the two operating states of the device.
The red LED is permanently on if the power supply of the electronics is not within the
tolerance limit, the device electronics is faulty or data communication on the remote
connection (port 3) is disturbed.
The red LED flashes if the FO-Repeater is in the Echo Mode (Test Mode).
The LED briefly flashes as a LED function test when powering-up or initiating the RESET
function.
LED Port 1 data
Flashing of this yellow LED indicates the data transmission on port 1. The data
synchronous flashing of this LED occurs when data is received or transmitted on port 1.
The LED briefly flashes as a LED function test when powering-up or initiating the RESET
function.
LED Port 2 data
Flashing of this yellow LED indicates the data transmission on port 2. The data
synchronous flashing of this LED occurs when data is received or transmitted on port 2.
The LED briefly flashes as a LED function test when powering-up or initiating the RESET
function.
LED Power On
The green Power On LED signals that the auxiliary voltage is connected.
Push-button
The Reset push-button has 2 functions, which differ from each other in how long the
push-button is pressed.
The push-button is pressed for shorter than 1 second: activation of the Echo Mode
function for port 1 and port 2.
The push-button is pressed for longer than 1 second: short-time activation of LEDs
Error or Link Down/Echo Mode, Data Port 1 and Data Port 2, switching of the DR relay
to the inactive state, resetting the internal logic and deactivation of the test mode. After
start-up, the DR relay switches to the active state
