PL Series/PS Series Type B
DIM Module Installation Guide
The DIM module is memory module made by Pro-face for use with its PL Series
Panel Computers (hereafter referred to as the "PL") and Built-in Computers (hereafter
referred to as the "PS-B").
For the details of the applicable models,please refer to each unit's User Manual
(Hardware Manual) or Pro-face Home Page.

• Be sure to check that the PL/PS-B unit's power is disconnected
before installing the unit, in order to prevent an electrical shock.
• Do not attempt to modify the DIM module, due to the dangers of
shock and fire.
• When installing the DIM module, be sure to read this guide's
sections 1. and 2. completely to insure that the DIM module is
correctly installed.
To Prevent Accidents
• Be sure water, liquids or metal particles are not allowed to enter the unit. Any of
these may cause either a breakdown or an electrical shock.
• Do not place or store this unit in a location where there is direct sunlight, exces-
sive heat, dust or vibration.
• Do not store or operate this unit near chemicals, or where there are chemical fumes.
• Do not use the DIM module in locations where corrosive gasses are present.
• Be careful of static electricity when removing the DIM module from its static-
resistant package.
• Be sure not to touch the DIM module's contact terminals. Touching them with a
bare finger can lead to corrosion.
Unit Disposal
• When the product is disposed of, it should be done so according to your country's
regulations for similar types of industrial waste.

  • Page 4 For PS-2000B Series Units Cover 1) Lay the PS-B unit on its side and unscrew the four (4) cover at- tachment screws. Step 2 2) Slide the cover horizontally in the direction shown by the arrow (see diagram) and lift it up from the PS-B unit.

    Installing the DIM Module The PL unit has two (2) module sockets and the PS-B unit has one (1). Use the fol- lowing procedure to install a DIM module in your PL/PS-B unit. Be aware that commercial DIM module specifications may differ from mod- ules made by Digital Electronics Corporation and their performance cannot be guaranteed.
