Performing diagnostics

An example of diagnostics in the SIMATIC Manager and detailed diagnostics with SIMATIC
PDM is shown below.
Requirements
● FF devices have been created
● An online connection to the FF device can be established
Diagnostics in the SIMATIC Manager
1. In SIMATIC Manager, open the project in the process device network view.
2. Select the FF device.
3. Select the Edit > Object Properties menu command.
The "<Device name> – Properties" dialog box opens.
4. Open the "Diagnostics" tab.
5. Click the "Update Diagnostics" button.
An attempt is made to establish a connection to the FF device. The status of the FF device
is determined and displayed. The following information on FF device communication is
displayed:
– Communication
– Device status
– Last check
– Message text
