Electronic test and measurement equipment is exempt from FCC part 15, subpart B compliance in the United States of America and from ICES-003 compliance in Canada. The equipment can be used as a stand-alone unit or as an RTU (remote test unit), part of a centralized management system like EXFO NQMSfiber. An RTU contains an OTDR (optical time domain reflectometer) and an optical switch that allows the instrument to test and monitor multiple fibers from the same instrument.

If you have purchased the 3G/4G option, the unit will also use a VPN to connect to the wireless network when the wired network is down.
