6.4 DISCS AND KNIVES

Working on rough terrain may cause damages to knives (deformation and
scratches) and therefore lower cutting quality while increasing the risk of
accidents and wear.
ATTENTION!
Damaged knives can more easily be thrown away
from the machine and cause serious injury to the
operator and other people even at a relevant
distance.
Fasteners of knives shall be checked regularly. Make a careful inspection
after an obstacle is hit, or knives have been replaced and at the beginning
and at the end of the season.
The cutter-holder discs of oval shape have been previously equilibrated
electronically: it is recommended to replace all tools at once.
Replace worn or deformed discs. Never replace one knife only. When
one knife is worn, replace both of them.
On the knives supplied together with the machine is located a harrow
indicating the direction of rotation of the knife.
Use exclusively knives in conformity with ISO 5718.
