SYMPTOM: The walking belt slows when walked on
a. If an extension cord is needed, use only a 3-conduc-
tor, 14-gauge (2 mm²) cord that is no longer than
1.5 m (5 ft.).
b. If the walking belt is overtightened, incline trainer
performance may decrease and the walking belt
may become damaged. First, adjust the incline to
40 percent. Then, remove the key and UNPLUG
THE POWER CORD. Using the hex key, turn both
idler roller screws (C) counterclockwise, 1/4 of a
turn. When the walking belt is properly tightened,
44
you should be able to lift each edge of the walking
belt 8 to 10 cm (3 to 4 in.) off the walking platform.
Be careful to keep the walking belt centred. Then,
plug in the power cord, insert the key, and walk on
the incline trainer for a few minutes. Repeat until
5
the walking belt is properly tightened.

with high-performance lubricant. IMPORTANT:
Never apply silicone spray or other substances
to the walking belt or the walking platform
unless instructed to do so by an authorized
service representative. Such substances may
deteriorate the walking belt and cause exces-
sive wear. If you suspect that the walking belt
needs more lubricant, see the front cover of this
manual.
d. If the walking belt still slows when walked on, see
