Make sure that the child seat is not

trapped between hard parts (vehicle door,
seat rail, etc.) and subsequently damaged.
Be sure to have a damaged child seat
^
checked (e.g. after being dropped).

Function of the belt buckle

The full functioning of the belt buckle is
crucial to safety. Any malfunctions in the belt
buckle are usually the result of dirt ingress.
Malfunctions (dirt)
The belt tongues are ejected slowly when
^
the red button is pressed.
The belt tongues no longer engage (are
^
ejected again).
The belt tongues engage without a clearly
^
audible „click".
Insertion of the belt tongue is hindered
^
(sticky).
The belt buckle can be only be opened with
^
a great deal of force.
Corrective measures (dirt)
1. Press red button 6 and open the belt
X
buckle of the child seat.
2. Loosening the shoulder belts; see page 9.

3. Push metal plate n, by which the seat
X
belt buckle is attached to the seat shell,
upright through slot o.
4. Place the seat belt buckle in warm water
X
(possibly with detergent) for at least 1
hour. Then rinse it and let it dry properly.

5. Push upright metal plate n downwards
X
through belt slot o in the cover and
through the seat shell.
6. Pull firmly on the seat belt buckle to
X
check fastening.
Malfunctions (mechanical)
The belt tongues can no longer be inserted
^
into the belt buckle.
Corrective measures (mechanical)
Unlock the belt buckle by pressing red
X
button 6.

LATCH function

The full functioning of the LATCH is crucial to
safety.
Malfunctions
The LATCH arms no longer engage the
^
LATCH-type (ISOFIX) securing rings in the
vehicle.
The LATCH arms engage the LATCH-type
^
(ISOFIX) securing rings in the vehicle
without a clearly audible „click".
The LATCH can be only be opened with a
^
great deal of force.
Corrective measures
Have the LATCH checked and, if necessary,
replaced at a qualified specialist workshop.
