If the sound level indicator remains on or backg round noise is
excessive, set the recordi ng S811Sit ivity selector to "LO".
Plug the headset provided into the "MON" jack, and you can
monitor the sound being reco rd ed .
Now you are ready to film while recording sound. Press the
shut t er trigger fully, and film ing and record i ng wi ll start at the
same time . In the view finder you will see the green and orange
lamps flickering.
When the soun d level control is set to "AU T O " , the built -in
automa t ic leve l contro l circui t functions to optim ize the re -
cording level. Tu rnin g t he cont ro l clockw ise f rom the "MAN"
position reduces sound vo lum e.

• Connect a sound sou rce such as a TV, radio, tuner , t ape deck,
reco rd p lay er, etc. to the " AUX" j ack .
• Set t he cam era sound level control to "AU TO ", then , while
watching the sound level indicator, adjust the record i ng
level with t he reco rd ing level cont rol on t he source device.
Both the microphone sound and sound from an external source
connected to the "AUX" jack can be recorded simultaneously.
With somB connection cords, part icularly high impedance
cords, tha camera may fail to record with an external source
connected to tha "AUX "
jaclc.
In such a
