Typical Causes
• Bad GPIB cables/
connections.
• Power not ON for PC or
instrument.
Check cables/
connections/power.
Check Device Manager
Other hardware checks
After performing these checks:
• If the causes is not identified,
see 82351A Software Checks.
• If the cause is identified as an
82351A hardware problem,
contact Keysight to return the
82351A.

A suggested troubleshooting flow chart for the 82351A,
installed instruments, and the Keysight IO Libraries Suite
follows. We suggest you start at Step 1 and then go to Step
2 and then to Step 3, as required.

Typical Causes
• GPIB card drivers not
installed.
• GPIB card not properly
configured.
Check for GPIB
driver files
Disable Connection Expert
Auto-Discovery
Check BIOS/Interrupts
settings
Set 82351A Read/Write
performance mode
After performing these checks:

• If the cause is identified, but the
problem cannot be fixed, contact
Keysight for support.
