IMPORTANT SAFEGUARDS

2. Improper use of this portable appliance may result in bodily injury or property
damage.
3. Always check exhaust pipe before each use. Remove blockage guard by turning the
guard a one-quarter (1/4) counterclockwise turn. Hold cooker cover up to light and
look through exhaust pipe to be certain it is clear and free of obstructions. aLwaYs

do not fill Pressure Cooker over MAX marking full with food and/or water.

5. When cooking foods that expand during cooking, such as rice or dried vegetables,
do not fill cooker over one half (1/2) full. Never use less than 1 cup (250 ml) of liquid
when pressure-cooking. See the section "How to Use the Pressure Cooker" for more
information.

pears, barley, oatmeal (or other cereals), split peas or soup mixes containing dried
vegetables. Foods such as noodles, macaroni, spaghetti or other pastas should not
be pressure cooked because they tend to foam or froth and may block the pressure
release device.
7. This appliance cooks under pressure. Improper use may result in a scalding injury.
Make certain the Pressure Cooker cover is properly closed and locked to the cooker
body before operating. See the section "How to Use the Pressure Cooker" for more
information.

liquids.

11. do not open or attempt to open the Pressure Cooker until the internal pressure
is reduced completely and the pressure indicating valve has dropped, allowing
the pushing plate to move over the valve. The pressure-limiting valve can now be
removed without any steam escaping.
12. caution: To ensure safe operation and satisfactory performance, replace the
sealing ring gasket if it becomes hard, deformed, cracked or shows any noticeable
damage.
13. Appliance is not intended for use by persons (including children) with reduced
physical, sensory or mental capabilities, or lack of experience and knowledge,
unless they have been given supervision or instruction concerning use of appliance
by a person responsible for their safety. Children should be supervised to ensure
they do not play with appliance.
