Performing a functional test
To activate the audible warning system, the switch (k 1, page 9)
must be in position C.
Conduct the functional test as follows:
➤ Switch on the ignition and shift into reverse gear.
✓ A short beep sounds to indicate that it is working.
✓ The display shows the distance to an obstacle from
around 2 m in 10 cm increments.
Be very careful when you first operate the device, and make sure that you
familiarize yourself with the various sequences of beeps.
Zone Meaning (6, page 5)
1
MAGIC WATCH recognises obstacles from a
distance of around 2 m (measured from the sensor)
and signals them with a series of slow beeps.
2
From a distance of around 0.95 m (measured
from the sensor) MAGIC WATCH switches to the
medium sequence.
3
At a distance of around 0.45 m (measured from
the sensor) and below, MAGIC WATCH switches
to the continuous tone. When you reach this
zone, stop the vehicle.
Otherwise you might damage the vehicle or the
obstacle.
In Zone 3 some obstacles may not be detected,
because they are no longer within range of the
sensors (construction-related characteristic).
