• Please carefully read this user manual before operating the device for the first time.

1.4 Product Description

With the smart headend Evolution II you can con-
vert ten digital TV programs to UHF channels, feed
them into a house distribution network and re-
ceive them with existing television sets without
any further effort.
Per channel, a MPEG data stream from the satellite,
which is QPSK modulated according to DVB-S
standard, is converted into a video signal and two

audio signals: A selected program from the MPEG
data stream (MPEG-Multiplex) is extracted and
converted to an analog signal in the range K21 to
K69 (no adjacent channel). Up to three Evolution II
can be connected (see section 3.12, page 30), a
maximum of 25 channels are available then.
The individual modules can be controlled via ten
