ROKSAN K3 POWER AMPLIFIER
MANUAL
Please refer to the front & rear panel view on Page 4. The moulded IEC connector of the
supplied mains lead should be plugged into the socket (7) on the rear of the unit fi rst and then
plugged into the mains supply. The Mains power switch (2) is on the front underside of the
Stereo Power Amplifi er. This switch can be left on; if however the amplifi er is likely to be
unattended for a long period, switch it off and unplug the mains lead from the wall.
All the inputs use Gold plated RCA Phono Connectors and should be connected according to
the standard convention – Right Channel – Red; Left Channel – Black or White.
Also in accordance with standard practice, the Upper row of Phono Sockets carries the Left
Channel and the Lower row carries the Right Channel.
If you wish to use the amplifi er for multi-amping with the K3 Integrated or purely as a pre/power
combination (with the K3 Integrated acting as the preamplifi er), you should connect the pre
out of your K3 Integrated (or pre-amplifi er or surround sound processor) to the corresponding
input. The gain of the K3 Stereo Power Amplifi er is exactly the same as the power amplifi er
section of the K3 Integrated Amplifi er and therefore is ideal for Multi-amping (Bi-amping,
Tri-amping etc.)
You have the choice between RCA and XLR inputs/outputs. Use selector switch (4) to select the
desired cable configuration. Please note that the circuits run in parallel, so input and output
must be the same cable type.
IMPORTANT NOTE: For optimum performance it is recommended to use high quality
interconnect cable such as ROKSAN HDC-03 A High Defi nition Analogue Cable.
The Right and Left loudspeakers are connected to the amplifi er via the rear panel binding posts
respectively.
IMPORTANT NOTE: For optimum performance it is recommended to use high quality
interconnect cables such as ROKSAN HDC-02A high defi nition analogue Cable.
IMPORTANT NOTE: It is always better to use the straight inputs when there are no requirements
for level adjustment.
Carefully observe polarity ensuring that the RED (+) speaker terminal is connected to the RED
(+) amplifi er terminal and the BLACK (-) speaker terminal to the BLACK (-) amplifi er terminal.
When all the channels are connected to their respective speakers the amplifi er is ready for use.
