Removing Panels
Allow 15 seconds from the time the system power is turned off
WARNING:
Capacitor
until you remove the system's side panels. This delay gives the
power supply capacitors time to discharge safely.
Discharge
To avoid damage from static discharge after removing the side
CAUTION:
panels and before touching anything inside the system, wear an
Static Damage
antistatic wrist strap. For information on using an antistatic
wrist strap, see Using an Antistatic Wrist Strap later in this
chapter.
If adding memory to the system, or if adding TURBOchannel
Step 3:
Remove Left
modules to the left side of the system unit (slots 0, 1, or 2);
Panel
remove the left side panel by pulling the tabs on the top edge
away
in Figure 2–8. Do not pull on the plastic part of the panel.
(TURBOchannel options may be installed in either the left or
right side.)
