USING THE ANTI-SKATE / PITCH CONTROL / STROBOSCOPE

Using the Anti-Skate Dial
Before using the turntable, make sure the anti-skating dial is set to "0".
The anti-skating function helps compensate inward tracking force that occurs with certain records when
the stylus (needle) nears the center or end of the record.
If the turntable is experiencing excessive skipping while nearing the center pin, follow these steps to
reduce any skating.
1. Simply increase the anti-skating function in small increments indicated on the dial.
2. Start by moving the dial from 0 to 1, then test its performance.
3. If there is still skipping or poor performance, simply increase the dial to the number
that allows the highest quality of playback.
Note: While adjusting the anti-skating knob, leave the tone arm and balance weight alone to prevent
damaging the stylus.
Using the Pitch Control
1. The Quartz button is used to turn the pitch control function ON and OFF.
2. Press the desired Pitch Range Button (+/-10% or +/-20%) to vary the turntable's rotational speed by as
much as +/- 20%, and the QUARTZ indicator will light up red.
3. Use the Pitch Adjustment Slide to find the desired pitch control.
4. When the Quartz is in the center position, the speed rate is at 0% pitch, and the QUARTZ LED
indicator will light up green.
Note: Once the pitch function is OFF, the Quartz LED Indicator will remain lit Green, even if the Pitch
Adjustment Slide is moved.
Using the Stroboscope
The stroboscope light is a reference that the turntable is rotating at the desired speed (33-1/3 or 45 RPM).
If the turntable is spinning at the exact desired speed it will appear to be "standing still" or stationary.
1. Observe the flashing light from the stroboscope; it will remain lit when the unit is turned ON.
2. In order to make the flashing light appear stationary, you need to move the Pitch Adjustment Slide.
3. If the flashing light is flowing clockwise, it means that the turntable is turning a little faster.
- Turn the Pitch Adjust Slide Control towards "-" position until the flashing light stands still.
4. If the flashing light is flowing counter-clockwise, it means the turntable is turning a little slower.
- Turn the Pitch Adjust Slide Control towards "+" position until the flashing light stands still.
