7.1

Dispatch of the defective DCU 220

DCU 220 involves delivery without storage batteries,
hard disk, stylus, power supply unit and accessories.

First check if a hardware fault or software fault is
present. DCU 220must only be sent in after a hard-
ware fault.
1. Remove both storage batteries from the defective
DCU 220.
2. Remove the hard disk from the defective DCU 220.
3. Remove the stylus from the defective DCU 220.
4. Return defective DCU 220 via CoremanNet (for re-
placement purposes) or Bosch Diagnostics (in case
of material defect liability) in the original packaging
or in equivalent packaging.

Commissioning of rental DCU 220

The DCU 220 rental device is supplied without sto-
rage batteries, hard disk, stylus, power supply unit
and accessories.
1. Install both storage batteries on the DCU 220 sto-
rage equipment.
2. Install the hard disk in the DCU 220 rental device.
3. Install the stylus in the DCU 220 rental device.
4. Switch on DCU 220 rental device and installations
and licenses.

Commissioning of repaired DCU 220

1. Remove both storage batteries on the DCU 220
rental device.
2. Remove the hard disk from the DCU 220 rental
device.
3. Remove the stylus from the DCU 220 rental device.
4. Install both storage batteries on the repaired
DCU 220 rental device.
5. Install the hard disk in the repaired DCU 220.
6. Install the stylus on the repaired DCU 220.
7. Switch on the repaired DCU 220 installations and
check licenses.
7.4 Comment concerning material defect
liability

Before sending in the DCU 220 in respect of lia-
bility for defects the test steps on the checklist
1 689 980 335 must be executed. Material defect li-
ability claims will be rejected if it is established that
the necessary steps have not been undertaken.
The completed Checklist must always be included with
the material defect liability claim (in paper form retur-
ned with the product, and as an attachment in BWS
online). The Checklist 1 689 980 335
form in EDIS and can be filled out on a PC/laptop befo-
re saving as a PDF document and printed out.
In the case of justified material defect liability claims,
the time employed for working through the Checklist
will be reimbursed.
