Servicing the Air Filter
Service Interval: Every 100 hours (more frequently in
extreme dusty or dirty conditions).
1.
Gently slide the air filter out of the air-cleaner
body
(Figure
39).
Note:
Avoid knocking the air filter into the side
of the body.
Important:
Do not attempt to clean the air
filter.
2.
Inspect the new filter for damage by looking
into the filter while shining a bright light on the
outside of the filter.
Note:
Holes in the filter appear as bright
spots. Inspect the element for tears, an oily
film, or damage to the rubber seal. If the filter is
damaged, do not use it.
3.
Carefully slide the air filter into the air filter
housing.
Important:
Do not press on the soft inside
area of the filter.

Install the air-cleaner cover with the side
indicated as "UP" facing upward and secure the
latches
