Functional description

2.3.1

Distributed analog sampling

SAM600-CT and SAM600-VT modules convert analog input values from secondary protection
or measurement cores (1A/5A – order variant, or 100V-125V AC, settable, respectively) to a
digital format transmitted over Ethernet according to IEC 61850-9-2, following the UCA
implementation guideline 2004. Inputs are converted following the IEC 61869-9 standard for
protection and operational metering applications. The amplitude accuracy and phase
displacements for the analog input channels for both SAM600-CT and SAM600-VT are
specified in the SAM600 product guide (1MRK 511 437-BEN).
