Equipment needed for commissioning
SL Installation and Operating Instructions manual
• Small adjustable wrench or 1/2" (13mm) wrench
• Pocket screwdriver
Before you start the commissioning process
1. Review the Commissioning section in the SL Installation and Operating Instructions manual.
2. Prepare your combustion analyzer:
3.
a. Clear your combustion analyzer outside in a clean environment, and check that the O
20.9% and CO is at 0.
b. Enter the boiler room with the analyzer operating, and verify that the values remain the same or
within safe working limits.
c. Loosen the vent stack bolt to enable easy access to the combustion analyzer's wand.
4. Become familiar with the gas valve. You may notice
differences between gas valves and references in
manuals. Consider the following:
Read only the Inlet gas pressure.
Open the inlet gas port and connect the
manometer:
Gas pressure must not exceed 14" water
column (WC).
Gas pressure must not be less than 4"WC
at any firing rate.
Gas pressure at ignition must not fall more
than 2"WC from static pressures.

Commissioning a boiler For the commissioning of each boiler: 1. Record the type of gas and incoming gas pressure. Type of Gas _________ Gas Pressure _______ Ignition Gas Pressure _______Lock-up...
  • Page 3 a. Change the load to Manual mode. Select a load (in our example we've selected Set Point) that can reject the amount of heat the boiler will create. When you operate the boiler at high fire for a period (for example, 15 minutes) your selected load will need the capacity to reject this heat.
