Dividing recorded tracks

— Divide Function

You can use this function to mark track numbers
after recording. The total number of tracks
increases by one and all the tracks following the
divided ones are renumbered.
E.g.: Dividing track 2 into two tracks.

Press MD to switch the function to MD.

Press MENU/NO to display "Edit
Menu".

Turn MD JOG until "Divide?" appears,
then press ENTER/YES.

Turn MD JOG until the desired track
number to divide appears, then press
ENTER/YES.
"—Rehearsal—" appears and the portion to
be divided is played repeatedly.

While monitoring the sound, turn MD
JOG to adjust the point to be divided.
You can shift the dividing point by 1/86
second (1 frame)* intervals.
To shift the point by minute or second
intervals, press MD m or M so that
minute or second flashes, then turn MD JOG.
* You can shift the dividing point by 2-frame
intervals (tracks recorded in Monaural or LP2
Stereo mode) or by 4-frame intervals (tracks
recorded in LP4 Stereo mode).

Press ENTER/YES.
"Complete!" appears for a few seconds and
the newly created track starts playing.
To cancel dividing
Press MENU/NO.
To return to the condition before
DIVIDE
You can return to the original condition
immediately after dividing the tracks (see
page 51). You can also return to the original
condition by using the Combine Function (see
page 49).
