No Keypad Tones And/Or No Incoming Audio In Hands-free

Mode From Vehicle Speakers
1.
Turn on the ignition and turn on the phone. In the Mobile Mode (coil cord plugged
in), listen for tones when the portable handset keys are pressed.

Are tones audible from speakers? Yes - With the coil cord plugged in and the
handset in the cradle, place a hands-free call and listen for incoming audio at the appropriate door
speaker.
Incoming audio heard?
Yes - No trouble found. Get further information from the customer. END No
- Key tones are heard-no incoming audio. Go to STEP 3.
No - Ensure "Keypad Tone" feature is turned on. To access "Feature Menu" press "FCN-1" and
use "#" or "*" to scroll and locate "Tone Control," press "STO." Use "#" or "' to scroll and locate
"Keypad Tones. If "Keypad Tones Off" is displayed, press the smart key to turn tones back on.
Are tones audible from speakers?
Yes - Improper programming-programming corrected. END No
- Tones are not audible from keypad. Go to STEP 4.

During the hands-free call, can the land party hear
you? Yes - Go to STEP 18. No - Go to STEP 15.

Dial a number on the head unit and attempt to place a call to the number dialed.
Call placed?
Yes - Go to STEP 9.
No – Check the connections of the D2B cable into the PSE and into the vehicle cabling. Go to
STEP 6.
5.
Listen for tones when handset keys are pressed.
Tones heard at speaker?
Yes – Poor connection caused problems. END
No – Replace the D2B fiber optic cable, which connects to the PSE with a known good cable. Go
to STEP 7.
6.
Listen for tones when handset keys are pressed.
Tones heard at speaker?
Yes – Defective D2B cable. END
No – Substitute a known good PSE. Go to STEP 8.
