Tips
• To begin recording
immediately, press the
( PLAY button while
pressing the r REC
button in the stop or
playback mode.
• The sampling frequency
is displayed when it is
changed during
recording. When it is
changed during
recording pause, it will
be displayed at the start
of the next recording.
• If the recorder remains
in the pause mode for
five minutes or longer,
the recorder will enter
the stop mode
automatically in order
to protect the head and
tape.
• If the recorder remains
in the stop mode for
three minutes or longer
while using the unit on
batteries, the recorder
will enter the low-
power consumption
mode automatically (see
page 41) to protect the
tape and to conserve the
battery.

Recording
Press the r REC and P PAUSE
buttons.
PAUSE
The recorder enters the pause
mode. If only the r REC button is
pressed, the recorder enters the
recording monitor mode and
does not begin recording.
Press either the ( PLAY or
PAUSE
P PAUSE button.
The recording begins.
