Failure rate data
The FMEDA report includes failure rates and independent information on generic sensor
models. The report is available at

Failure values
Safety accuracy (defines what FMEDA considers to be a dangerous deviation from a
correct measurement):
When the span > = 100 °C, the safety accuracy is ± 2% of process variable span
When the span < 100 °C, the safety accuracy ± 2 °C
Safety response time: 5 seconds
Self-diagnostics test interval: At least once every 60 minutes

50 years – based on worst case component wear-out mechanisms – not based on wear-
out of process sensors.
