INSTALLATION

Perform the following steps to install and setup this speaker for operation. Do
not mix constant voltage and low impedance speakers in the same speaker array.
1.
Power off and unplug all equipment that will be connected to this
speaker.
2.
As part of a 70V or 100V constant voltage speaker array, select a tap to
one of the 70V or 100V wattage positions. The total wattage rating of all
speakers in the array must not exceed 80% of the amplifier's RMS power
rating.
Example: If you are using the 100V output of the 14886 120-watt constant voltage
amplifier, which has a maximum usable rating of 96 watts, you can connect up to
9 speakers using the 10-watt taps (90 total watts) or up to 16 speakers using the
6-watt taps (96 total watts).
3.
Determine the mounting location of the speaker. Use a stud finder or
probe to ensure that the desired location in unobstructed.
4.
Using a pencil, mark the cutout hole at the desired location.
5.
Use a drywall saw or other tool appropriate for the ceiling material to
cut the mounting hole.
6.
Run speaker wire from the amplifier to the speaker installation location.
Important Safety Warning! If installing this speaker in the ceiling, you must use
in-wall rated speaker wire for residential installations or plenum rated speaker
wire for commercial installations.
7.
Connect the speaker wire to the speaker, taking care to ensure that
polarity is properly maintained.
8.
Push the spring loaded metal tabs up towards the speaker magnet.
While holding the clips up, push the speaker into the hole, pulling your
fingers out of the hole as you insert the speaker and allowing the tabs to
come down and make contact with ceiling.
