Refer to the documentation that came with your amplifier or receiver to determine the maximum size/gauge speaker wire the speaker terminals can accept.

The speaker can be mounted to a drywall wall or ceiling that is between 3/8" and 1-1/4" thick, with sufficient depth clearance for the model being installed. If installing to a drop ceiling, use of a mounting bracket is required. Monoprice carries mounting brackets for drop ceiling installations. - Page 8 10.
