IGNITION SYSTEM
IGNITION SYSTEM TROUBLESHOOTING
IGNITION SYSTEM
NO OR WEAK SPARK AT SPARK PLUG
Check the following before troubleshooting:
– Loose connectors
– Spark plug (page 3-5)
– Engine oil level (page 3-3)
Check the oil level switch (If equipped) (page 10-3)/
oil alert unit (If equipped) (page 10-4).
Normal
Check for continuity between the engine wire
harness connectors.
Normal
Check the engine stop switch (page 10-3).
Normal
Check the ignition coil (page 8-7).
Normal
Check the spark plug cap (page 8-7).
If necessary, replace the spark plug cap.

Replace the oil level switch (page 10-2).
Abnormal
Replace the oil alert unit (page 10-3).
Replace the engine wire harness.
Abnormal
Replace the engine stop switch (page 10-2).
Abnormal
Replace the ignition coil (page 8-3).
Abnormal
