QUICKSTART
Thank you for purchasing the Linn Akurate Kontrol pre-amplifier. This guide provides
basic unpacking and connecting information to get you started - contact your Linn
Specialist for full installation support.
IMPORTANT:
Please refer to the printed Safety Information booklet for important safety information
and the online manual available at www.linn.co.uk/akuratekontrol for full instruc-
tions on using your Linn Akurate Kontrol pre-amplifier.
Unpacking
•
Remove product from packaging and place on a flat surface
•
Please retain all packaging for future transport of Akurate Kontrol

1 x Akurate Kontrol pre-amplifier
•
1 x mains lead
•
1 x pair of Linn Black interconnect cables
•
1 x luminous infra-red (IR) handset (with 2 x AAA batteries)
•
1 x Safety Information booklet
Positioning
•
Place unit on a flat, stable and rigid surface
•
Place unit within range of your network router or switch (if required)
IMPORTANT:
An active network connection is required for configuring your pre-amplifier and also
for full source and volume control of external sources (e.g. Linn DS) via Linn or
3rd party software. However, you can operate the pre-amplifier without an active
network connection, using the front panel or infra-red (IR) handset
•
Avoid positioning the unit in direct sunlight as this can interfere with the infra-red
(IR) sensor on the front panel
•
Do not stack components and avoid placing near other heat sources
•
Allow space all the way around the unit for air circulation
Connecting
1.
Before making any connections, switch off your power
amplifier(s).
2.
Connect the Akurate Kontrol to your power amplifier using
either the left and right Analogue Pre Out (cables supplied) or
Balanced Out sockets
3.
Connect the Akurate Kontrol
Ethernet socket to your network
using a standard Ethernet cable (if network required)
•
An active network connection is required to configure sources
and complete Setup steps 2-3 overleaf
4.
If you have a Linn DS player, connect this to
Balanced In sockets
5.
Connect any additional source components to the back panel using your preferred
connection method (phono or balanced) - use socket 4/PH for any turntable you wish
to connect (and do not connect line level source components to this socket)

Your Akurate Kontrol is configured as an MC (Moving Coil) phono stage as default -
please contact your Linn Specialist if you wish to change this to MM (Moving Magnet)
or convert socket 4/PH to line level
6.
Connect your mains cable to the unit but do not power on the unit yet
either the left and right Analogue In or
