Filtering Map Data

• To filter collections map data, select Collections, and
select an option.
• To filter activities map data, select Activities, and select
an option.

Garmin Explore Map Settings

From the Explore app, select Map >
Data Fields: Adds data fields for heading, elevation, speed, and
GPS coordinates to the map.
Scale Bar: Adds a distance scale to the map.
Units: Sets the units of measure.

Creating a Waypoint

You can use the Garmin Explore app to create and save
waypoints. You can use your device to navigate to waypoint
locations.

• To create a waypoint at your current location, select
Add Waypoint.
• To create a waypoint in another location on the map,
touch a location on the map, and select Add Waypoint.

If necessary, select Select to edit notes. and add notes
about the location.

Creating a Route

Select additional points to create a line for your route.

Synchronizing Garmin Explore Account Data

Before you can synchronize account data, you must connect to
a Wi‑Fi network.
You can synchronize data, such as waypoints, routes, and
activities with your Garmin Explore account. This can be helpful
to keep your data available on each of your compatible devices.
Your device periodically synchronizes data with your account
automatically. You can also synchronize data manually at any
time.

Recording Tracks

Tracking records your path. When you start tracking, your
device logs your location and updates the track line. If your
device is paired with an inReach
track points and transmits them over the satellite network at the
specified send interval.

Changing Tracking Intervals

Before you can change tracking intervals, you must pair your
device with a compatible inReach device.
You can change the tracking intervals to determine how often
your device logs and transmits track points.

• To change the frequency at which the device records a
track point and transmits it over the satellite network,
select Send Interval.
• To change the frequency at which the device logs your
location and updates the track line, select Log Interval.

Stopping Tracking

• To continue recording a track, select Resume Recording.
• To save a track for viewing in Garmin Explore, select Save
Track to Garmin Explore.
• To discard the track, select Discard Track.

Pitch and Roll

The Pitch and Roll application is intended to show vehicle
angles based on calibrated measurements only. You are
responsible for calibrating the device. Changes to the position of
the device after calibration may affect the accuracy of its
measurements. Measured values are suggestions only based
on your input into the device. Take readings often and carefully,
and allow the readings to stabilize after significant changes in
environmental conditions. Always allow a margin of safety for
changing conditions and reading errors. Failure to account for
your vehicle and your environment could cause an incident
resulting in death or serious injury.
The device alerts you if your vehicle pitches or rolls at an angle
that could affect the vehicle's stability.
